The Aris Collection is currently comprised of items made in Occupied Japan (OJ) that were meticously collected by Jane and Paul' Bolbat of Philadelphia. What started out as buying individual pieces for their home, turned into a life time hobby with lifetime freinds they met along the way.
They took photogragraphs of each item and their identification marks and kept a journal of the description of each piece, placing them in albums for easy reference. Their collection grew to over 2,000 pieces which will eventually be showcased on this Website. This collection comprises items include figurines, cameras, hats, dinnerware, toys, clothing, etc.
One of the friends she met, was Florence Archambault, founder of the Occupied Japan Collector's Club. She authored the very first book, The Collector's Encyclopedia of Occupied Japan Collectibles, which showcased many of the Bolbat's collection.
